Havens Continues to Win Awards in Canoe Championships

Albion College swimming & diving coach Keith Havens continued to rack up awards in the American Canoe Association’s Whitewater Open Canoe Downriver Championships last weekend. The meet is being contested on the Deerfield River in Zoar Gap, Mass.

Havens posted the second-fastest overall time (and the fastest time in his age group) in the one-man event. Havens and Ed Wright posted the fastest overall time in the two-man event, and he teamed with Nicki Rockentine, ’11, to finish fourth overall (and third in the age group) in the two-man mixed competition.

Havens and Wright started the meet by posting the fastest overall time in the two-man distance event July 14. Their time of 1:17:23 beat the next fastest team by a little more than two minutes.
