Zara Phillips’ ride Toytown to retire at The Festival of British Eventing
Zara Phillips will officially retire her “horse of a lifetime” Toytown on the final day of The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park on Sunday 7 August.
Eighteen-year-old “Noddy” will be paraded in the main arena at 1.45pm on Sunday, so that his fans can pay tribute to the legendary chestnut horse with the distinctive white flecks that has provided Zara — and British eventing — with so many special moments over the last decade.

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The 2011 West Coast Conference Spring All-Academic teams honor some of the league’s finest examples of the consummate scholar-athlete. At the completion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each of the participating sponsored sports. To be considered, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his or her team. Albion Runners Gearing Up for Cross Country Season
The Albion College cross country teams, coached by Hayden Smith, ’70, welcomes the challenges presented by the 2011 season. The men’s squad seeks a return trip to the NCAA Division III Championships while the women’s team hopes to make a move toward the top of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
The men’s squad has experienced runners at the collegiate level, but core of the team is still young as five of the seven runners who competed in the NCAA Championships last November will hold sophomore and junior standing during the 2011-2012 academic year. The Bri Get more…
C Division Rugby: St Andrew’s beat RI 35-5 to finish unbeaten in group stage
Republic Polytechnic, Monday, July 25, 2011 St. Andrew’s Secondary School beat defending champions Raffles Institution 35–5 in the 2011 National C Division Rugby Championship.
The Saints scored four tries to RIs one to seal the win.
The win was the Saints seventh win in a row and they finished top of Group A. They will play Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) in the semi-finals on Thursday, August 11th. RI are out of the running for the semi-finals. The other semi-final will see Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) play St Josephs Institution.
