Three Equestrian Sport Team roles to cover the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games next year are now available for application. The roles are paid and are due to start April – June 2012.

Weather Aids Albion in Loss to Hope
ALBION – Albion College gave Hope College a scare for the first 45 minutes of their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women’s soccer match at Alumni Field.
The teams were not only battling the opponent, but a raw fall day with a steady rain and temperatures in the 40s.
Hope placed nine shots on goal, but Albion goalkeeper Sam Bowditch (Portage/Portage Central) was there to make every play. Bowditch also received help from the conditions as Erin Jipping just missed connecting on crossing passes to teammates making runs in the middle of the field. The
Fence design winner drawn at Blenheim Palace
At the recent Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, the renowned fence company Jump 4 Joy put on a competition for budding young artists to design a showjump to be used at the popular event held in Woodstock next year.
The competition winner was eight year old Ellen Coles who designed the below zebra design which will be replicated by Jump 4 Joy for 2012.
Amateur Football in the UK
Amateur Football is when clubs and players do not play for financial rewards. In the UK, County Football Associations govern amateur football. These County Associations are based on historic county boundaries and are responsible for the ‘Sunday league football’. It is often called Pub League Football. The British Army has its own Army Football Association. A major competition in Britain is the Amateur Football Alliance (AFA). It is the largest of its kind and is a type of a County Football Association. AFA looks into the functioning of the Arthurian League, in which the Old Estonians and the Old Carthusians, former FA Cup winners, play.

Mazur’s 81 Good for Third in Alma Invitational
Erica Mazur’s outstanding season continued Sept. 24 as her score of 81 was good for a third-place finish on the individual leader board of the Alma College Fall Invitational. Albion College finished sixth in the seven-team field with a 391 total.
